D-Eazy was born in the Inland Empire, California . Original growing up in a home with a gangster/turned preacher as a father and a hard working mother. D-Eazy often drew inspiration from hip hop music to escape the reality of the streets. At the age of 10 he began putting down what he would see on the streets of his neighborhood into a poetry format. By the age of 16 after his school teacher encouraged him to continue his poetry writing he learned how to turn that same writing into music lyrics.
At the age of 20 D-Eazy continued to participate in social freestyle battles around the hood. In 2001 after relocating to Espanola, New Mexico from California giving up his talent not knowing what was in store for him in New Mexico .
In early 2002 D-Eazy meet up with two younger local rappers from Espanola (Sand Nauti & JD) and started work on a underground album. A few months later after this album was released on the streets of Espanola a co-worker of D-Eazy joined the team to become manger for D-Eazy. By mid 2002 D-Eazy and Juan Montoya started a independent label named Mic Check Ent. In a spare bedroom of D-Eazy's apartment with a key broad, computer, some home radio equipment and a 8 track recorder and started work on mixtape material for the years of 2003 and 2004 both D-Eazy and Juan stopped working together and at this time D-Eazy started to work with other local artist from Espanola such as Shyne, then went on to work with Undefined Records owned by Aaron Lopez (Nemesis) and other artist on the label such as Xplicit & Lin-Dogg just to name a few, with in the year of 2006 D-Eazy and Juan got back to work and started a new label called G-Style Recordz and worked with new talented artist like Soultray, Key-L and Villin-G.
In 2007 an advertisement for Crank It Up Production$ was on the radio Juan made the contact with Alejandro "Dro" Gomez CEO of Crank It Up Production$ and worked on some recordings for Street Akademikz the mixtape.
