Clearly two veterans in their own rights –
Eric Bobo (son of Latin jazz legend, Willie Bobo)
has been a member of Cypress Hill for over 15 years now,
& has also played for the Beastie Boys, The Black Crowes,
Tha Alkaholiks, Gnarls Barkley & countless others;
& Rhettmatic has of course been a part of the groundbreaking
World Famous Beat Junkies ever since they first formed in the early 90′s,
before going on to release albums w/ Visionaries, Buff1 (as Crown Royale) & others,
& has provided scratches for hundreds, if not thousands, of records -
it was almost inevitable that the two would eventually Meet.

Taking their name from the title of their first collaboration
(for Bobo’s Meeting Of The Minds solo album in 2005),
the duo officially formed in 2009
& released the self-titled Bobo Meets Rhettmatic – The Mixtape
to critical acclaim & fanfare that same year,
& have been touring the world both together & seperately ever since.

For their follow-up release – The Cypress Junkies Mixtape/EP,
BMR cleverly fuse their one-on-one battle/collaboration-style live sets
w/ their in-studio, original productions as a duo,
splitting the project into two halves -
the first half being a live Mixtape
featuring three different routines/sets by genre;
& then the second as an EP featuring 4 new co-productions,
one of which – “Rosetta Stone” features extended family members,
Rakaa Iriscience (of Dilated Peoples) and Noelle Scaggs (of Fitz & The Tantrums).
