Amplified!’ is Killa Kela’s third studio album to date and undeniably his most exciting yet. It features a host of the most innovative and respected names in music such as ‘Does it Offend You, Yeah?’ front man, and co producer of The Prodigy’s no.1 album ‘Invaders Must Die’ James Rushent. French house master Alan Braxe, Bashy, Hadouken!, Lateef, The Cool Kids and legendary Human League producer Martin Rushent. Just to name a few.

Killa Kela is most famous for his world renowned and astounding beatbox skills (and not being able to eat a Rowntrees Fruit Pastel without chewing). Skills that have earned him a place on stage with the likes of Pharrell Williams, Prince, Justin Timberlake, Plan B, and De La Soul. As they say, practice makes perfect and Kela’s tireless performing has taught him how to take his finely tuned beatboxing skills and apply them to his singing voice. How to weave them in and out of live instrumentation and to let producers dip into the vast sound bank that exists entirely in his head.

‘Amplified!’ stays true to Kela’s electro, drum ‘n’ bass and hip hop influenced roots and at times it is hard to tell whether it is his beatboxing or drums that is the forcefully pounding heart driving each track. It’s no laid back listen and tracks such as current single ‘Built Like an Amplifier’, ‘All Killa No Filla’, ‘Get a Rise’ feat. Haduoken! and the Martin Rushent produced ‘Couple of Wasters’ are a relentless, hard-hitting assault on the senses. In contrast to this ‘Situation’ featuring Lateef oozes an effortlessly cool vibe, next single ‘Everyday’ has the uplifting summer anthem stamp on it that only Alan Braxe can do and ‘She’s Sweet’ draws on Martin Rushent’s ability to make an electro dance track like no other.
